Victorian Strawberry Collection 

This kit was inspired by a pair of slippers, embroidered in 1858 by the elderly Duchess of Kent as a Christmas gift for her daughter Queen Victoria.  These slippers can be found in the collection of the Museum of London.  The slippers were embroidered in a tent stitch using colored silk and wools, and the white strawberry flowers were worked entirely with beads.  The Duchess probably followed a pattern published at the time and would have had her work made up professionally into slippers, edged with pale red velvet and lined with fine white tabby silk.

Scissor keeps stitched on 18-count Aida fabric.  Kit includes fabric & needle, 6-strand embroidery cotton, full instructions, cord and thread to make a tassel. Scissor Keep has a charted design on its back.  Finished size is 2.5" x 2.5"  excl. cord & tassel.

Needle cases stitched on 14-count Aida fabric.  Kit includes fabric and needle, 6-strand embroidery cotton, full charted instructions, lining felt and felt for leaf to hold needles, tassel and small charted design on the back of the needle case.

Bookmarks stitched on 15-count Aida fabric.  Kit includes Aida band and needle, 6-strand embroidery cotton, full charted instructions, felt or tartan Ribbon for backing and Tassel.   Finished project measures 7" x 2". 

Spectacle case stitched on 14-count Aida fabric.  Kit includes fabric and needle, 6-strand embroidery cotton, full charted instructions, lining fabric, 

cord.  Finished size of Spectacle case which can also be used as a cell-phone case is 6" x 3.5".
